Guy Fieri’s apple pie hot dog for the ‘Field of Dreams’ game is a culinary abomination that must be destroyed
It may be high time to impeach the mayor of Flavortown.
Guy Fieri, internet sensation, culinary evil genius and host of “Guy’s Grocery Games,” is back at it again, this time with a new abomination in conjunction with Chevrolet, just in time for a special baseball event this week.
Fieri, long known for his over-the-top recipes (and shows [and hair]) is bringing a new concoction to the “Field of Dreams” matchup between the White Sox and Yankees on Thursday: The apple pie hot dog. We repeat: The apple pie hot dog.

FAGAN: Is Bryce Harper really an NL MVP favorite?
Somewhere around “canned apple pie filling,” this recipe takes a left turn from the charming “Flavortown” to metropolitan nightmare “Gutbust City.”
Really, there’s nothing too nefarious about this: The flaky pie crust looks pretty appetizing, bacon jam is always a plus and who doesn’t like a good frankfurter?
There’s nothing more American than baseball, hot dogs and apple pie (and, now, morbid obesity), but this recipe is the very epitome of: “Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.”
Clearly, there’s some wiggle room to debate whether the apple-pie-dog would be good, and few question the absolute authority of Fieri, with Twitter taking sides on whether to devour the Frankenstein’s monster of foods:
Every day, we stray further from God’s light.
